+ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why do classes go 5 days a week?
A: We attend school 5 days a week because NAA specializes in combining two complete education programs. A full-week schedule ensures your student has enough time to fully participate in and benefit from both programs.
Q: What school calendar does NAA follow?
A: NAA follows the Tumwater School District calendar.
Q: What does the $400 deposit cover?
A: The $400 deposit covers the Abeka student materials your child will need for the school year. This deposit does two things: it secures your student’s spot at NAA and ensures materials are ready when school begins.
Q: Will my student get dirty?
A: The short answer is yes! Because we incorporate hands-on learning and farm experiences, students are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing for outdoor and messy activities.
Q: What Christian aspects can I expect for my child?
A: We believe faith is lived, not just taught. At NAA, our Christian values are embedded in everything we do—from learning and farming to how we treat each other. Students will learn about Jesus, experience chapel time, and grow in an environment where faith is woven into everyday life.
Q: When is tuition due?
A: Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.
Q: Will my child be safe?
A: Absolutely—and this is one of our highest priorities. NAA was intentionally designed with multiple safety features. From classroom layouts to outdoor learning environments, safety is always considered. Of course, kids may still trip, fall, or have minor accidents (sometimes over their own feet!), but rest assured—we have built-in protocols, safety procedures, and staff training to help protect your little ones.
Q: What should I do if my child is sick?
A: Please text NAA as early as possible. We begin checking messages at 7:30 AM.
Q: How will I be informed if NAA has a closure due to power outages, snow, or other emergencies?
A: Each student group has a designated text group. In the event of a closure or emergency (e.g., a prolonged power outage), NAA will send out a message as promptly as possible. Parents may also receive direct calls if pickup arrangements are needed.
Q: What kind of snack should I pack for my child?
A: Your child will be busy and active, so please pack a simple, easy-to-eat snack. If there’s ever a life-threatening allergy in the group, NAA will notify families and request certain foods be avoided. Thank you for your support!
